Sunday, December 21, 1981 - Lloyd S. "Smokey" Senft, 78, of Spring Grove, RD 4, died Saturday, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucy M. Senft. Born in North Codorus Township, he was the son of the late Edwin and Amanda Ziegler Senft. He was an employee of Simone Textile Co., of Allentown, where he retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of Nashville, Topton, and Pennsburg, volunteer fire companies and was a life member of Owls Nest 1302, Allentown. Survivors include eight sons, Pyrus R. Senft, Spring Grove, RD 4; Lloyd E. Senft, York, RD 10; James A. Senft, 11 Evergreen Lane, York; Dale E. Senft, Gary L. Senft, and Ronald L. Senft, all of Spring Grove, RD 4; Robert N. Senft, 581 W. Market St., York; and Richard L. Senft, with whom he resided for the past four years; two daughters, Mrs. Lester R. Forry, Spring Grove, RD 4; and Mrs. Lucy Jane Thomas, 1800 North Hills Road; twenty-three grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2p.m., December 22, Sauter Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. William R. Yocum, pastor of St. Peter's (Lischey's) United Church of Christ congregation, officiating. Burial will be in Penn Memorial Gardens, Hanover, RD 3. Viewing Tuesday, from 1p.m., until time of service.
