Pauline G. Russell Henricks
July 14, 1913 – May 23, 2003
Pauline G. RUSSELL HENRICKS, 89, 3512 Melody Lane, Kokomo, died Friday at the Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo, following a short illness.
Born in Rochester to Fay and Theresa BRICKEL RUSSELL, she maried Carl "Pat" HENRICKS on March 4, 1934 in Bruce Lake. He preceded in death on Feb. 3, 1981.
Mrs. Russell Henricks lived in the Rochester community for over 75 years after moving from Winamac. She was a former co-owner of Ritz Craft Corp., Argos and a member of OES #96, Winamac.
Bringing the greatest joy to Pauline was her close-knit family. She supported her family through three generations of cheering for her girls, then grandchildren and now her great-grandchildren from AAU basketball to T-ball games. No one was more proud of her family. The younger generations looked to her for advice and philosophy of life and occasional assistance with household chores and cooking. Pauline had shared many close friendships with her card playing girlfriends. "There's nothing like a game of ‘spite and malice.'" Finally, Pauline had a love for gardening. She enjoyed many hours meticulously grooming her lawn and flower garden. In appreciation for her beautification efforts, she received Rochester's Top Gardener Award in 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Kanouse and husband David, Kokomo, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding in death were her mother and father, husband Carl "Pat" HENRICKS, one daughter, Patsy BUTT, Oct. 7, 2000, two sisters, Betty Lou SHAMBARGER WOLFE, Aug. 22, 1993, and Mildred McCONKEY, and one brother, Jackie RUSSELL, died at birth.
Services are Monday at 10 a.m. at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester with reverend
Junior BOSE officiating. Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
