Mrs. Dotson was born June 27, 1886, in Florence, Williamson Country, Texas and died June 11, 1985, at Bay Villa Nursing Home where she was a resident for four years.
A resident of Bay City for 64 years, she submitted poetry and stories several times to The Daily Tribune. She has written several books of prose and poetry and wrote some of her poems on poster board for friends and residents at the nursing home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Starling, two sons, Eugene A. Gordon of Alvin and Kenneth A. Gordon of Houston; two granddaughters; five grandsons; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
