ECRU - Betty Doom Bigham, 77, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of Ecru Baptist Church and retired from the First National Bank in New Albany, where she was a vice president and a loan officer. She was a past president of the National Association of Bank Women of Northeast MS Chapter. She also worked at the Cotton Gin and at the Ecru City Hall.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Littlefield and Rev. James R. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Guy Waymon Bigham of Ecru; her son, Larry W. Bigham (Janice) of Ecru; one sister, Lillian Motchman, Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Harry Doom of New Albany; two grandchildren, Larry S. Bigham (Crystal) and Stephanie Austin (Brent) and two great grandchildren, Landon and Chase.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Roy Doom and Earline Hamilton Doom; her sister, Mary Jo Richardson and a brother, Roy Arnold Doom.

Pallbearers will be Randy Cobb, Colt Doom, Brandon Lowery, Bill Riker, Brent Austin and Gary Floyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Whitehead, Jimmy Farris, Dr. Lester Willis, Bush Hamilton and Lewis McGee.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
