Dora Louise Lord McCoy, loving wife of the late Cecil McCoy, and mother of Karla McCoy Mehagan of Greenville, Greg McCoy (Judy) of Isle of Palms, and her very special daughter Debbie McCoy of Moncks Corner, passed away after a brief illness March 30, 2011.

Mrs. McCoy was born in Dudley, Georgia on June 12 1920 to the late Dollie Nobles Lord and Robert M. Lord. In addition to her children she is survived by sisters Lucille Davis and Jeanette Fulford and brothers Minton Lord and Ray Lord. She was predeceased by Sister Lorene Rowe. She took pride in her grandsons Robert McCoy (Ai), Bradley McCoy (Keely), and Marc Mehagan (Erin). The seven great-grandchildren brought great joy to her life.

A resident of Hampton since 1952, Mrs. McCoy had been a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the Women's Mission Union and served on the bereavement committee for many years. She was an outgoing person with a quick wit who never met a stranger and will be greatly missed of all whose life she has touched. Many will remember Mrs. McCoy as a wonderful cook and talented seamstress.

The funeral service will be conducted at Hampton First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM April 3rd with burial to follow in the Hampton Cemetery.
