Lucille Lord Davis

Lucille Lord Davis, 98, passed away at Serenity Hospice House on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church Cemetery. Elder Stephen Dyar and Elder Raybon Lord will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A native of Laurens County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Dollie Nobles Lord. Mrs. Davis was the widow of Melvin F. Davis. They were married 75 years prior to his death. The majority of their married life, they resided in Macon, Georgia on Vineville Avenue. When they retired, they built a home on the land of Mrs. Davis’ home place and in later years she resided at Summer Willow Assisted Living. She was a graduate of Dublin High School. Additionally, she attended Middle Georgia A. and M. Normal School. She was a retired manager of the children’s shoe department at Macy’s, formerly known as Davisons.
She was an active member of Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church. She was also involved in her community through the American Business Women’s Association, Dublin Garden Club, and Macy’s Retiree Organization. Though she never had biological children of her own, she received great pleasure in her many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include three siblings; Minton Lord (Mildred) of Dudley, Ray Lord of Dublin and Jeanette Fulford (Hubert) of Dublin and numerous nieces and nephews.
