Lloyd Kermit Regstad, 92, Minot, died September 16, 2004 at his residence.

Lloyd was born on June 15, 1912 in Regstad Township, McHenry County, Balfour, ND, the son of Peter E. and Mathilda (Hanson) Regstad. He was baptized at the Lutheran church and reared and educated in Regstad Township. He helped on the family farmstead hauling grain and gravel before joining the Civilian Conservation Corps.

On April 2, 1942 at Fort Snelling, MN, Lloyd entered the US Army and was stationed at Camp Berkley, TX. While in Texas, Lloyd married Magdalen Lenertz on May 2, 1943 in Abilene, TX. Lloyd was honorably discharged from the Army on August 13, 1943. Upon his discharge the couple returned to Balfour, ND, where they started farming. While in Balfour, Lloyd pitched softball for local teams.

In later years he worked for the Great Northern as a heavy equipment operator. In 1971, Lloyd retired from farming and moved his family to Minot. At the age of 69, he retired from the railroad.

Lloyd was a member of the Butte American Legion and the Minot Senior Citizens. He spent his retirement years fishing, hunting, playing golf, walking and watching the Minnesota Twins and other sporting events. He swam regularly at the Easter Seals Pool in Minot where he made many friends.

Lloyd will be deeply missed by his family. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lloyd Regstad, Jr.; brother, Palmer Regstad; and sisters, Evelyn Regstad and Lucille Parkansky.
