Clarence Regstad, 97, Balfour, ND, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in a Minot nursing home.

Clarence Elmer Regstad was born April 20, 1910, the son of Peter and Mathilda (Hanson) Regstad on the family homestead located in Karlsruhe (Regstad) Township of McHenry County, six miles north of Balfour, ND. He was raised on the family homestead and educated at a rural school in Regstad Township. As a young adult he assisted his parents with the operation of the family farm.

Clarence eventually took over the family farm where he farmed and raised registered Holstein cattle until he retired. He spent his retirement years on the family homestead and wintered for several years in Grand Junction, AZ. He lived independently on the farm until March of 2007, when he moved to Minot.

He was a member of the Balfour Lutheran Church, Balfour.

Surviving family includes: nephews, Peter J. Regstad, Minot, Donald (Regina) Regstad, Surrey, and Joe Parkansky, Chicago Ridge, IL; nieces, Rosalie (Larry) Werre, Surrey, Linda Rasmusson, Plymouth, MN, Diane (Gaylon) Grosche, Salem, OR, Sharon (Phil) Lutz, Hanover Park, IL, Susan Parkansky, Chicago, IL, and Bonnie Kline, Tinley Park, IL; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ralph and Marsha Duchsherer, Balfour.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Palmer and Lloyd Regstad; sisters, Evelyn Regstad and Lucille Parkansky; and two-half sisters.

Funeral: Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Balfour Lutheran Church, Balfour, ND.

Interment: Balfour Cemetery, Balfour ND.

Visitation: Friday from Noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Balfour Lutheran Church, in care of Francis Martwick, 3885 5th Ave. NE, Balfour, ND.
