Former Barstow resident, Robert J Tate, 86, died April 17 in a Los Angeles Hospital. Tate resided in Barstow from 1926 until 1943 when he moved to Fresno. He was employed as a boilermaker for the Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 1951.
He is survived by the widow, Grace of the family residence: 519 Idaho, Santa Monica and one son and one daughter.
Rosary will be held tonight at 8 pm at the Moelier Murphy and Mueller Mortuary in Santa Monica. Mass will be recited for him Thursday at 10 am in the St. Monica Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in the Elks Plot, Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica. The Elks lodge will conduct the graveside rites.
