Max R. Lupton

Max R. Lupton, 90, Shawnee, died Thursday, March 14, in his home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Harvey Smith and the Rev. Bruce Brotherton will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Lupton was born April 29, 1900 in Solon, Iowa. When he was 4, he moved to Enid where he grew up. He married Mabel Blain in 1919 in Poteau and they moved to Shawnee. Since 1929, he owned Max R. Lupton and Sons Paint Store, was a paint contractor and a painter for Wirf's Paint Store for 16 years. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Lupton is survived by his wife, Mabel Lupton, of the home; six sons, Donal Lupton, Midwest City; Allen Lupton, Shawnee; Bob Lupton, Moore; Sam Lupton, Shawnee; Daniel Lupton, Kenner, LA; Warren Lupton, Shawnee; three daughters, Janice Allee, Fallbrook, Calif.; Audrie Grandcolas, Pheonix, Ariz.; Deloris McConnell, Fullerton, Calif.; 42 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Harendorf, Van Buren, Ark.; and Hazel Brownlee, Charleston, Mo.
