Bob Weldon Lupton was born November 14, 1933 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and passed from this life on January 10, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1952 and later attended both Oklahoma A&M and the University of Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1953. He was assigned to the USCGC Rockaway, receiving an honorable discharge in 1957. Early in his career, he owned and operated B.W Lupton Paint Manufacturing Company, in Shawnee. He was also a paint chemist for Black & Puryear Paint Manufacturing Company in Oklahoma City. In the early 1970's, he opened a traditional printing company, Blue Jay Cards in Oklahoma City. He owned and operated "Blue Jay" for over 30 years before retiring in 2003. A longtime resident of Moore, Oklahoma, he was honored to serve as a Councilman on the Moore City Council in the early 1990's. He later served as Commander of the American Legion, Post 184. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Oklahoma Football. He loved his family and took great joy in finding little ways to make them smile. His parents Max R. and Mabel Lupton, brothers Raymond, Morris, and Donal Lupton, and sister, Audrie Lupton Grandcolas, predeceased him. He is survived by his adoring wife of 50 years, Wilma Lupton. He also leaves behind a son, James Lupton, daughters Barbara Lupton, Jeanett (Jan) Lupton, Tresa Lupton and Jenny Lupton, sisters, Janice Allee and Delores McConnell, and brothers, Allen, Sam, Dan, and Warren Lupton. He was a proud and loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Services were held January 14 at New Life Methodist Church in Moore.
