Son of James E. and Mary A. (Deaver) Warren. Married Martha Jane Longstreth.

GEORGE W. WARREN DEAD
George Washington Warren, an aged and respected resident of Malta, passed away at 4:20 last evening, following an illness that had extended over the past nine years at which time he had undergone a stroke of paralysis. This trouble became further complicated with bladder and other ailments and two weeks ago he became bedfast in what proved to be the last illness. He would have been 87 years of age the 23rd of next January.
Mr. Warren was one of five children born to James and Mary Deaver Warren of near Deavertown, only one of this family, Mrs. Mary McHenry of Duncan Falls, now surviving.
About sixty years ago the decedent was united in marriage with Martha Longstreth of York township, who passed away three years ago last August. They moved to the farm now owned by Mrs. Ed Taylor on Poplar Ridge where they resided for more than 30 years.
Eight children were born of this union, one of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are a son, Elmer of Creston, Iowa; Cora, wife of E. S. Martin of Deerfield; Frank and Joseph of Zanesville; Harry of Deavertown; Arthur of Malta Route One, and Elizabeth, wife of Howard L. Cowan of Malta.
By reason of failing health, Mr. Warren retired thirteen years ago and he and his wife moved to Upper Malta, making their home with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cowan.
The decedent was for many years an active member of the U. B. church at Oil Spring and was an honorable and upright citizen who enjoyed the esteem and respect of the entire community.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the home in Upper Malta in charge of Rev. Frank Gillilan, with interment in the McConnelsville cemetery.
