Calvin C. Ruble, 76, Greensburg, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2000, at the I.O.O.F. Nursing Home in Greensburg.

Born March 22, 1924, in New Point, he was the son of Joseph Lee and Stella Edith (Blair) Ruble. He married Margaret (Taylor) Ruble on March 22, 1946, in Greensburg, and she preceded him in death on June 1, 1996.

He was a self-employed painter/contractor for over 50 years. He was a member of the First Church of God of Greensburg. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from New Point High School.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis C. Ruble and Danny W. Ruble, both of Greensburg; two daughters, Beverly (Mrs. Donald) Burton of Greensburg and Mary Jane (Mrs. Wallace) Burton of Findlay, Ohio; two sisters, Nelrose (Mrs. Elsworth) Cook of Greensburg and Vivian Folsom of Seymour; four brothers, James Ruble of Columbus, John Robert Ruble of Millhousen, Archie Ruble of New Point, and Jerry Ruble of Aurora; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Ruble and Joseph Ruble.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg, with the Rev. Robert L. Browning officiating.

Burial will be at South Park Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 5584.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God.
