Services were Wednesday, October 23, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jinks Family Funeral Services in Viola. The Rev. Charles Reynolds of the First Christian Church, Keithsburg, officiated.
Burial was in the Viola Cemetery.
Visitation was at the Jinks Family Funeral Services in Viola on Tuesday, October 22, 1996 from 6 to 8.

He was born September 8, 1917 in Viola the son of Don and Bessie Glancey Beard.
He married Pearl Barton March 12, 1948. He died in 1983.
He served in the Army during WW II.
He enjoyed fishing, wildlife and his grandchildren.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jeffrey Moyer of Moline; daughter, JoAnn Beard of Ithaca, N.Y; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Kathy Beard of Moline; four grandchildren, Matt Moyer, Jill Sawyer, Stephanie and Joshua Beard; one great granddaughter, Alexis Sawyer; brother, Dwight Beard of Silvis; sisters, Elsie Munson of Viola and Marge Kisler of Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers were Dave Hogeboom, Brian Beard, Church Schuette, Jeremy Sawyer, Matthew Moyer and David Good.
