Born: Maybank, TX -moved to KY when he was a young boy.
Son of: James (Jim) Isaac and Ortelie (Telie) Davis Dyer, decd.
Veteran of WW II, served in the US Navy. Then employed by the Ragland-Potter Co in Glasgow as a grocery truck driver for KY and TN. Later began working for Gulf Oil Refining Co in Glasgow, driving a gasoline truck and worked there until he was elected Deputy Sheriff of Barren Co. At the end of his term he was elected Barren County Sheriff and was later elected and served 2 terms as Barren County Jailer. Member of VFW, attended and was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church and the Go-Get'em Sunday School Class.

Wife: Wilma Lyons Dyer
Daughter: Bonita Elmore and husband Bill, Glasgow
Granddaughters:Gayle Seale and husband Ronnie of Orlando, FL: Beth Sheesley and husband Scott of Glasgow and Michelle Inman and husband Joey of Glasgow.
Great-grandchildren: Weston Thomas Inman and Carsen Ann Inman, Glasgow
Several nieces and nephews.

Sistrs: Bertie Bailey and Georgia Dicken
Brothers: Gene, Carlie, Willie and Jessie Dyer.
