Wilma Lyons Dyer

GLASGOW — Wilma Lyons Dyer, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the Barren County Health Care Facility in Glasgow. She was born in Freedom, the daughter of the late George Lonnie Lyons and Lottie Jane Sherfey Lyons. Mrs. Dyer was a former employee of the Glasgow Independent Schools, a seamstress and homemaker. She was a longstanding member of the Glasgow Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Three L's Sunday School Class. In the early years, she was a Sunday School teacher in the primary department.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonita D. Elmore and husband Billy; three granddaughters, Gayla Jane and husband Ronnie Seale of Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth Jean (Beth) and husband Scott Sheesley of Glasgow and Michelle Lee and husband Joey Inman of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Weston Thomas Inman and Carsen Ann Inman of Glasgow; three brothers, Roger Reid Lyons, Richard "Bubby" Lyons and Harry L. Lyons, all of Glasgow; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wilson Lee Dyer; three sisters, Mary E. Bush, Erma Whitehead and Jeanette Clark; and three brothers, Earl, Russell and Rondal Lyons.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
