Franklin L, son of Uriah and Elizabeth Bowen was born March 4, 1868, in North Harrison County Missouri.
After a long illness he passed from this life on Nov 20, 1951, at the age of 83 years, eight months, and 16 days at the Decatur county hospital, Leon, where he had been confined the past six weeks.
He was a twin brother of Lydia Holloway, who preceded him in death on Dec 23, 1935. His parents and all 12 of his brother and sisters, preceded him in death.
He married Ida Daniel Nov 17, 1916. Most of his life was spent on the farm that his father homesteaded in 1853, in the Lone Rock neighborhood.
In March 1930, he moved to Lamoni, where he resided for 15 years; he then moved to Davis City in October 1943, where he spent the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews a host of friends.
He was a kind and loving husband and his passing will be mourned by all who knew him. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church in Davis City, on Nov 23, 1951, at 2 pm with Rev J McCallum of Leon officiating.
He was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery on Nov 23, 1951.
