Henry E Bowen, son of Uriah and Elizabeth Bowen, was born Dec 7, 1871, in Harrison County, Missouri. He was married to Rosella Sandage in 1894, who preceded him in death in 1914. To this union were born six children, namely: Mrs Elsie James, Locksprings, Mo; Elmer Bowen, Eaggleville, Mo; Mrs Katie Cantrell, Lamoni; Mrs Ruth Downey, Kansas City, Mo; Homer Bowen, deceased, and Merle Bowen, Kansas City, Mo.
The greater part of his life was spent in or near Harrison County, Mo. At the time of his death, he was residing with Mr and Mrs Willis Guillams, where he was tenderly cared for by his niece, Maude Guilliams.
Besides his five living children, he leaves to mourn his departure: one brother, Frank Bowen, Davis City; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends.
