Obituary

Elbra Margaret Tompkins, daughter of Alpha Crandall and Jane Jones was born near Manson, IA on Dec. 13, 1891. In 1898 she moved with her parents to Artesian, S. D. where she received her education in rural schools. On Sept. 6, 1911 she was married to Frank Tompkins. They farmed in Montana until 1918 when they returned to South Dakota and farmed at Carthage, Madison and Chester. In 1941 they moved to Flandrau where they lived until the death of Mr. Tompkins in 1957. She moved to Colman to make her home until entering Riverview Manor in April of this year. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Clifford Tompkins, Rapid City; 4 daughters, Myrtle, Mrs. Kenneth Falk, Colman; Anetta, Mrs. George Pulscher, Aurora; Nora, Mrs. Melvin Lehnhoff, Garretson and Grace, Mrs. Walter Bothern, Sioux Falls; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, one grand daughter, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
