William H. Heller, 82, a lifelong resident of the Galena area, died suddenly at his home on the Elizabeth road Friday afternoon.
Services were held Monday at 2pm at the Nash Funeral Home in Galena with the Rev. Raymond White, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating.
Casket bearers were Floyd Heller of Waterloo, Ia., Alfred Heller of Shullsburg, Edgar Hallett of Brandon, Ia., Russell Hallet of Independence, Ia., and Donald Beadle and Richard Beadle of Galena.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Born in East Galena township on May 5, 1878, Mr. Heller was the son of the late William and Ann Lee Heller. He received his education in the rural East Galena township schools.
On Dec. 9, 1903, he married Myrtle Snyder in Galena. They spent their entire married life farming, until he retired from active farming about seven years ago.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Galena and Wildey Lodge No. 5, I.O.O.F.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Bertha) Obermiller and Mrs. Melvin (Dorothy) Bader; two sons, Earl and Robert; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Bucher and Mrs. Minnie Beadle; one brother, Henry, all of Galena; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Richard and Fred, also preceded him in death.
