Elmer J. Bates, seventy-five, a
resident of Glens Falls for fifty
years, died at 3:15 o'clock Sunday
afternoon, at his home in that city.
He is survived by his wife, Mae
Bates; three step-daughters,
actually nieces of Mrs. Bates. Mrs. How-
ard Green, of Gloversville; Mrs.
Frank Lindenthaler, of Rochelle
Park, NJ, and Mrs. Earl O'Con-
nor, of Glens Falls; three sisters
Mrs. Emerson Lyford of Glens
Falls; Mrs. Charles Kenyon, of
Garnet, and Mrs. Wesley Bennett
of North Creek.; also one brother
Bert Bates of Garnet. Funeral
services were conducted at the
home at 2 o'clock Tuesday after-
noon, the Rev. W.A.R. Gilbride
pastor of the South Glens Falls
Baptist church, officiating. Burial
was in the Glens Falls cemetery.
He was, over the years, a farmhand, laborer, moulder?,
milk peddler, shipping clerk, and care taker at a health center
in Glens Falls
