Mary Theresa Murphy, 86, of St. Joseph died Thursday [January 20, 1977] at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. She was born in Daviess County and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Her husband, James Robert Murphy, died in 1965. Survivors include 7 sons, J.C. Murphy of Calhoun, Murray, Robertus & Bernard Murphy, all of Daviess County, John R. Murphy of Owensboro, the Rev. Thomas A. Murphy of Paducah and Hubert Murphy of Hartselle, AL; a daughter, Sister Theresa Murphy of Bardstown; 47 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation after 2 p.m. today at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 7 p.m.
