Mrs. Emma Akins Parker,77,died Wednesday at Tattnall Memorial Hospital in Reidsville after a short illness.
The Tattnall County native was a Sunday school teacher at First Christian Church of Glennville, a retired teacher and was active in civic affairs.
Surviving her are her husband, Doyle Parker of Glennville, a daughter, Mrs. Kay Kicklighter of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Billy Parker of Glennville and Derrell Parker of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Leslie Harrison of Glennville, Mrs. Sally Kicklighter of Claxton, and Mrs. Willie M. Blocker of Jesup; five grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Friday at Rimes Mortuary, burial was in the Glennville City Cemetery.
