Theresa GORDON Lynd was born in New Albany, Indiana, a daughter of the late John and Eliza Ann DENNIS Gordon. She married Elijah W. Lynd, the eighth child of Rev. Dr. Samuel W. and Leonora Maria STAUGHTON Lynd, on May 20, 1868 in New Albany, Indiana.

Theresa died at her residence on Radcliffe Road in Dayton, Ohio of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and twin grandsons who died as infants.

Survivors include her son, Elijah Waring Lynd, and his wife Katharine (Hickman); her daughter Eliza Leonora "Lila" Lynd Folger and husband Herbert, and six granddaughters: Katharine Lynd, Dorothy Ann Staughton Lynd, Margaret Waring Lynd, Theresa Gordon Folger, Jeanette Lynd Folger, and Alberta Gardner Folger.

Theresa was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH.
