Vera Jean Vest, 79, of Bloomfield, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born April 14, 1931 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Lee and Vesta (Watson) Thomson.
She retired from Indiana Bell after 30 years of service, and attended Bloomfield First Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Charles Edwin "Eddie" Vest whom she married July 17, 1949; two sons, Charles Lee "Sonny" Vest and Michael Dean Vest (Kim) both of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Lesley Holland (James) of Indianapolis, Stacy Lowry (Chad) of Bloomfield, Amy Vest (Curt Fulbright) of Indianapolis, Jeremy Vest (Danielle) of Worthington, Megan Toon (Shawn) of Bloomfield and Darrius Philpott of Worthington; two sisters, Wilma Mowery (Jerry) of Camby and Bernice Watkins (Wendell) of Mooresville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Lorene Brannon, Susie Briscoe, and Reva Dean.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. John Moffitt and Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
