Berniece E. (Thomson) Watkins, 86, of Plainfield passed away June 3, 2015. She was born to Levi and Vesta (Watson) Thomson on June 23, 1928 in Bloomfield. She graduated from Solsberry High School in 1946. She married James "Wendell" Watkins on December 28, 1946.

Berniece worked as a cafeteria cashier for Decatur Central High School for seven years and as a clerk for Valley Market for seven years. She was a member of Camby Community Church, past Worthy Matron of Indianapolis Order of Eastern Star and Mooresville VFW Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed embroidery, cooking, and golf. She lived in Mooresville for 8 years, Camby for 20 years and her birthplace of Bloomfield for 35 years.

Berniece is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Melvin) McClellan of Camby, Linda (Richard) Summers of Plainfield, four grandchildren, Laura McClellan, Keith Summers, Shelby McClellan, Kelly Summers; seven great-grandchildren, Wesley, Aaron, Evan, Sophie, Paige, Sam, Noah; one sister, Wilma Mowery of Camby.

Berniece is preceded in death by her parents, Levi & Vesta Thomson; husband of 65 years, James "Wendell" Watkins; a grandson, Kenneth Summers; four sisters, Susie Briscoe, Lorene Brannon, Vera Vest & Reva Dean.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 and 9-10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. There will be also be a 7:30 p.m. Order of Eastern Star Service on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary. Berniece will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery, Indianapolis.
