Johnson W. Burnett
Johnson Willie Burnett, 79, of Woodlawn, route 1, died Sunday, January 5 in Twin County Community Hospital.
He was born in Carroll County April 20, 1906 to Meredith and Emmazette Hanks Burnett.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Webb, Woodlawn; Mrs. Una Faye Poppek, Front Royal; Mrs. Frieda Edwards, Bunker Hill, W VA; four sons, Gene Burnett, Bunker Hill, W VA; Ray Burnett, Austinville; Gale Burnett, Greenville, N.C.; Doris Burnett, Austinville; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Delp, Galax; Lartha Burnett, Woodlawn; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a special friend, Ms. Mattie Goad.
Funeral was Tuesday, January 7 at 1 p.m. from Pleasant View Holiness church conducted by Rev. Dan Moore and Mr. Jack King. The Galax Moose Lodge No. 773 conducted rites at the church.
Interment was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.
