Louie Ethel Burnett Delp, 88, of Galax, died April 26, 1997, in Blue Ridge Health and
Rehabilitation Center, Galax. She was the wife of the late Truman Delp. She was born
in Carroll County September 13, 1908, to Meredith and Emma Burnett. She is survived
by step daughters and step sons-in-law, Helen and Carrington Lightbourn of The
Bahamas; Sandra and Larry Ward of Christiansburg; Brenda Alley of Iron Station, N.C.;
step sons and daughters-in-law, Guy Lee and Nina Delp of Woodlawn; Carroll Dean and
Diana Delp of Powhatan; six grand­children, eight great-grandchildren. Funeral was April 29 in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel conducted by Winfred Bowers. Burial was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.
