Treffle was married twice, both times back at Lotbinière in Canada.

8 Jun 1856 to Dulisse Cinq-Mars, and

9 Feb 1892 to Celanire Pelletier.

He operated the ferry across the Minnesota River between Mendota and Fort Snelling for 21 years.
