"Buford Frelen Pickens, age 74, of Dumas, AR died Friday, April 17, 1998 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock AR. He was born Aug 27, 1923 at Wing, AR to Sam and Ella Womack Pickens. He was an Army Veteran and a Cargo Carrier. He attended church at Anderson Chapel Baptist Church.

"He is survived by his wife Anna Marlow Pickens of Dumas AR, five sons: S K Pickens of Dumas, D R Pickens of Sheridan AR, R L Pickens of Star City AR, R P Pickens and D F Pickens both of Dumas AR; two daughters F A Schulz and M L Bennett both of Dumas AR; two sisters Meck Armstong of Cliff NM and Artie Hawkins of Reedley CA; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service was Apr 20, 1998 at Anderson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Steven Tiner officiating. Burial was in Tyro Cemetery in Tyro AR. Memorials may be made to the VA Hospital in Little Rock AR."
