Alfred Joseph "Fred" Bamberg was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma - the 6th of 8 children born to Lorenz and Catherine Bamberg. He married the love of his life (Jennie Pearl Wakeman) on July 4, 1933 and they had 3 children together. Fred lived his entire life in Kingfisher, first on his parents farm, then his own farms and then in town after his retirement from farming. After retirement he could be found early most mornings at the Cattleman's Cafe in downtown Kingfisher catching up on the latest farming and oil news as well as flirting with the waitresses. He also loved fishing and kept a tank of minnows and crawdads in a shed in his backyard so he could pick up at a moments notice and head down to the creek or out to a pond. Fred loved his family, he loved life and he kept busy enjoying both right up to a few days before his death.
