Jennie Pearl Wakeman was born in Tecumseh, Shawnee, Kansas - the 7th of 14 children born to William Henry and May Elizabeth (Freeland) Wakeman. She married the love of her life (Alfred Joseph "Fred" Bamberg) on July 4, 1933. Jennie moved to Kingfisher, Oklahoma with her family in about 1908 and she lived there for the rest of her life - first on her parents farm, then on farms with Fred and their children and finally in town after Fred retired from farming. As a farmers wife she kept busy helping take care of the livestock, but most importantly making sure the family and everyone else working on the farm were well fed. She also enjoyed quilting and was very active in quilting bees. Jennie loved her family and and kept busy taking care of them and enjoying her life. She desperately missed Fred when he passed away and she joined in him heaven 7 years after he was buried.
