Mr. Davis was born in Andrews on May 27, 1927, a son of the late Thomas Ervin Davis and Isla Mae Blakley Davis. He grew up in Andrews and worked for International Paper Co. for fifteen years. Mr. Davis was also a carpenter for a construction company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Davis was predeceased by: a son, Ronnie A. Davis.
Surviving are: his wife, Betty Lou Mercer Davis of Andrews; three sons, Oneal Davis of Huger, Tony Davis and David 'Monkey" Davis both of Andrews; five daughters, Barbara Demaskey and Ginger Faye Walker, both of Summerville, Gloria Jean Cooper, Donna Kay Cooper, and Denise Blakely, all of Andrews; three sisters, Bernice Martin, Mary Alice Matthews, and Vernie "Skeeter" Mercer, all of Georgetown; thirty seven grandchildren; and forty one great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, June 14, 2006, at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Henry J. Duncan, Jr. and the Rev. Steve Wilson. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.
