Mrs. Fred Gehrke Deceased
Dorothea Buessing was born in Negenborgen, Hanover, Germany, June 10, 1826. She married Fred Heur in 1846 and to them were born a son who died in 1858. In 1849 the family came to America, where a daughter was born--Mrs. Rittmueller, who died a year ago. Mr. Heur died in 1848. Deceased was again married in 1860 to Mr. Fred Gehrke, who survives her. Three children were born to them. The family lived in the vicinity of Addison, Bensenville, Itasca and Elk Grove. For the past 17 years, Mr. and Mrs. Gehrke have made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Henry Fiene in the Heights. Their son, Henry Gehrke and family live on a large farm north of Itasca, while a daughter, Mrs. Mumme resides in Minnesota. Mrs. Gehrke had been sickly the past two years but was only confined to her bed a few days before her death, which occurred July 18, 1907, aged 81 years, 1 month, and 8 days. Besides her husband and children, she leaves 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A large number from adjourning towns attended the funeral, which was held July 22 at the St. Peters church, Rev. Chas Noack officiating.
