Obituary:
Fred A. Schneider, 1612 11th Ave., a veteran of WWII and a former foreman for Great Western Sugar Co., died Sunday at Ft. Lyon Veteran Adminisration Hospital where he had been a patient for the past month at age 63.
Born Otis, Rush Co., Kansas 14 March 1905 he moved to Kearney Co., KS then came to Windsor, CO where he attended Windsor schools. He married Elizabeth Kaiser in Greeley 31 March 1928/divorced 23 March 1932.
He entered military service in Denver 3 April 1942 and served as a private in the Medical Dept. of Headquarters, 301st.Medical Battalion, 76th infantry Division at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. He was discharged at Vaughan General Hospital in Hines, Illinois on 11 Feb. 1945, then went to the VA Hospital at Ft. Lyon where he stayed until 1954. He had lived in the Greeley area since.
Survivors include three sons, Fred A.; Paul William both of Greeley and Willard F. of Denver and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Fred (Esther)Reichert of Fort Collins and four brothers, Lester B and Victor A. of Greeley; Julius of Lemon Grove, CA and Sam D. of Lakewood, CA.
