Jacob Dorn, a retired farmer formerly of the Gill community, died early Wednesday morning at Weld County General Hospital. Jacob was born at Walter, Russia, Apr. 24, 1885. He and his wife, the former Katherine Rossman, were married at Lincoln, Neb., Feb 27, 1906. The Dorns came to Colorado from North Dakota in 1928, and farmed at Gill until he retired in 1944. He was a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church since 1928, and was a member of the Broterhood.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Katherine Dorn, are 3 sons, Edward, Herman and Daniel. Three daughters preceded him in death. Also surviving are a brother, John Dorn of Greeley; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Schmunk of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Elizabeth Strom of Lisbon, N.D. and Mrs. Amelia Stencel of Camas, Wash.; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
