Funeral for Kathryn Schmunk, a Southeast Portland homemaker who died Saturday in a Parkrose nursing home, will be a 3 p.m. Wednesday in Ross Hollywood Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose City Cemetery. She was 89.
A resident of the Portland area since 1925, Mrs. Schmunk was born in the Soviet Union.
She is survived by her sons, Richard of Homestead, Fla, Jimmy, Herbert and Jerry, all of Portland; a daughter, Elsie Johanson of Portland; sisters, Amelia Stensel of Camas, Wash. and Elizabeth Strom of Fargo, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
