Willis C Watson, Technician 4

Dec 14, 1944 Bergheim, France

When battalion B was subject to heavy fire all personnel in the area were ordered to take cover. hearing the crys of a wounded soldier, Tech 4 Watson immediately left his station in a nearby house and ran across the shelled area to aide his comrade. Just as he reached the injured man, he was knocked to the gound and seriously wounded by hurling shell fragments. Inspite of the intense pain of his injuries, Tech 4 Watson, crawled across the shell-blasted terrain on his hands and knees, dragging the casualty into the house. His unselfish action at the risk of his own life, reflects great credit upon himself and his organization. He entered the service from Bertram Texas

He obtained 4 Bronze Stars, American Service Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Silver Star March 5th 1945 and Purple Heart dec 18th 1944
