Minnie was the daughter of John and Mary B. (Wood) Elmore and was born on May 31, 1873 in Morgan County, Indiana. She married Macy Johnson Montgomery on March 16, 1897 in Hendricks County. Macy and Minnie Montgomery owned their farm in Hendricks County and lived there all their lives. They had four children: John Russell (b. March 12, 1898), an infant daughter, Lona, who died at birth (b. Sept. 11, 1900); Mary Elizabeth (b. April 20, 1906) and Zola Fern (B. January 16, 1914). All were born in Hendricks County. Minnie died on December 27, 1961 and is buried in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery at Lizton.

Mrs. Minnie Montgomery, a resident of R. R. 1, Pittsboro, for many years died December 27 in the Country Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the past three and a half years.

A native of Martin County, she was born May 31, 1873, the daughter of John and Mary Wood Elmore. On March 16, 1897, she was married to the late Macy Montgomery who died July 3 of this year (1961). She was a member of the Montclair Christian Church.

Services were conducted Friday afternoon in the Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Edgar Byram officiating. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.

Survivors include three children, Mrs. Mary Bailey and Russell Montgomery, both of R. R. 1, Lizton, and Mrs. Zola Johnston of Pittsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Emaline Rumley of Sarasota, Florida, and Mrs. Betty Woodard of Lizton; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
