Mrs. Elvira S. Adams, 85 years old, passed away today at her residence, 913 N. Fifth street, after an illness of about eight months' duration. Mrs. Adams was born October 3, 1850, in Kennendago, N. Y., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eri Sabin. When she was three years old her parents moved to Fond du Lac County and later settled on a farm in Sheboygan County. Later the Sabin family moved to the village of Glenbeulah, where the deceased was united in marriage to Owen Adams. The couple moved to Mason City, Iowa, where they resided until the death of her husband 40 years ago, when she and her family returned to Glenbeulah where they resided until 11 years ago. Since then she had made her home with her daughter, Miss Alice Adams. Present register of deeds. She was a widow to a Civil war veteran, and an honorary member of Helen Brainard Cole Tent, Daughters of Union Veterans, of this city.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Alice and Ida Ubbelohde of Hulls Crossing, Wis.; two sons, Harry of Coral Gabels, Florida, and James of Sterling, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Hattie Huntley of Glenbeulah; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
