Eri Briggs Sabin Plymouth Reporter March 28, 1914

Eri Briggs Sabin, a well known and highly respected citizen of this village, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. G. Huntley on Monday night at twelve o'clock of general debility, after a lingering illness. Deceased was born in town of Bath, Stuben Co., New York on Nov. 30, 1824, coming to Wisconsin in 1853 and settling in Fond du Lac County. He was a member of Co. B infantry, 27th regiment serving three years. When he was honorable discharged in 1860 (sic), he moved to this village, where he has resided since. He was united in marriage to Amanda Hoyt in 1849 in Canandiagua Co., N. Y. Deceased leaves two daughters, Mrs. Elvira Adams and Mrs. Hattie Huntley, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Thursday at the home at 1:30 and at the M.E. Church at 2 o'clock, Rev. R. J. Bailey conducting the service. Interment was made in the village cemetery by the side of his companion who departed this life about nine years ago.
