"Mrs. Lela K. Rape, 87, of Fort Worth and formerly of the Pleasant View community in Hill County, died Tuesday, April 5, at a Fort Worth hospital. She was born September 26, 1895, in Giddings, Texas, daughter of MalInda Beringer Kennedy and Tommy Kennedy. She married Johnny C. Rape December 31, 1912. He died July 25, 1951. She also was preceded in death by a son, Chester Rape, who died November 21, 1976. Mrs. Rape lived in the Pleasant View community in Hill County for several years. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include four daughters, Hazel Hill and Maxine Ward, both of Blum, Sally Ruth Boldin of Washington and Martha May Webb of Fort Worth; two sons, Lester Rape and Clisto Rape, both of Blum; one brother, Wesson Kennedy of Weatherford; one sister, Ella Paschal of Cleburne; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Earl Hall officiating. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery near Whitney."
