"Johnnie Chester Rape, Jr. - Johnnie Chester Rape, Jr. of 1191 Roldan Avenue in Simi Valley, California died November 21 in Simi Valley. He was 56 years, 10 months and four days of age.
He was born January 17, 1920 in Blum, Texas, the son of Lela and Johnnie Cleveland Rape and lived in the Blum area most of his life. He lived in California since 1952 and worked for Rockwell and North American for 17 years. He married Laurel Ashley August 10, 1943, and was a member of the Unity Church in Reseda, California. He served in the U.S. Army in world War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura B. Rape of Simi Valley, his mother, Mrs. Lela Rape, Ft. Worth, five children, Gary and Billy Rape of San Antonio, Mrs. Laquieda Baxter of Sylmar, California, and Miss Sharon and Gay Rape of Simi Valley.
He is also survived by a twin brother, Lester of Blum, and another brother Clisto of Buena, Washington.
Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Hill of Whitney, Mrs. Ruth Bolin of Buena, Washington, Mrs. Martha M. Webb of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Maxine Ward of Blum as well as four grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Friday, November 26, 1976 at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney. Marie Conine officiated and interment was in the Pleasant Grove (Jawbone) Cemetery."
