Funeral services for Katherine Doil Benton Semon, 89, of Rosenberg, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth St. in Rosenberg, with Brother Allen Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg.
Katherine was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Beasley, to Grover Cleveland "G.C." Benton and Addie Bobb Ross Benton. She was born with cerebral palsy and after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's, she died peacefully in the loving care of family and friends Thursday, Feb. 4 in Rosenberg. She was a memeber of Graeber Road Church of Christ in Rosenberg, and she loved spending time and visiting with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Semon; brothers: Chester Benton, Arthur Lee Benton, and Ralph Benton; sisters: Doicy Grant, Juanita Drake and Mildred Rude.
Survivors include her daughter, Addie Marie Dybala and husband, Joe, of Rosenberg; grandson, Brandon Dybala and wife, Catherine, of Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Grant, Tom Benton, Ralph Benton, Robert Lee Drake, Matt Benton and Jake Benton.
Memorials may be made in Katherine Semon's memory to a charity of one's choice.
