Reagan, TN - James Edward Meek, 87, carpenter, painter and farmer, died of heart failure Tuesay at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Milledgeville United Methodist Church with burial in Milledgeville Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Home of Savannah has charge.
He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the Henderson County election commission.
He leaves three daughters, Jeanette Cain of Sardis, Nancy Dunavant of Scotts Hill and Sherry Meek of Jackson; three sons, Robert Meek of Munford, Jimmy Meek of Sardis and Jerry Meek of Reagan; three sisters, Cordie Newman, Vida Bishop and Dee Pugh, all of Milledgeville; a brother, Robert Cleburn Meek of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
