Floris Ellis, the second child of Solomon and Martha Ellis, was born on January 2, 1902. Floris married Frank Cole and was also a schoolteacher. She taught almost up to the time of her death on February 22, 1955, leaving one son, Robert E. Cole, born on April 6, 1936. He now lives in Richmond, Virginia, working for the Reynolds Aluminum Company.

The body of Mrs. Floris (Ellis) Cole, a former resident of Lizton, will be brought to the Cox Funeral Home this evening following funeral services at Louisville, Ky., this morning. Burial will be in the K. of P. Cemetery at 10 am tomorrow. Friends may call at the Cox Funeral Home after 6 pm. Mrs. Cole was the daughter of Sol and Martha Ellis of Lizton and died Tuesday night in a Louisville, Ky., hospital following a long illness. Survivors are a son, R. E. Cole, Louisville; mother, Mrs. Martha Ellis; two sisters, Mrs. Elfia Leach and Mrs. Charlotte Kincaud, and a brother, Dr. L. H. Ellis, all of Lizton. The husband, Frank Cole, is deceased.

Mrs. Cole, of 1262 Everett, died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 22, 1955) in the St. Joseph Infirmary. She formerly worked n the American Red Cross office here and earlier for the Indiana Welfare Department in New Albany. Mrs. Cole was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors are a son, Robert E. Cole; her mother, Mrs. S. T. Ellis; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Kincaid and Mrs. Ralph Leach, and a brother, Dr. L. H. Ellis, all of Lizton.
