Robert Benjamin Capshaw, 59, died Friday at his home in Raleigh, N.C. Mr. Capshaw was a native of the Johnson Hollow Community, Franklin. a member of the Church of Christ, retired from the U.S. Air Force, and was director of TeleCommunication for the state of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his daughter, the late Connie Capshaw who died in 1963. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Coleman Capshaw of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Lisa Wingfield of Loveland, Colo. and Julie Smith of Simsbury, Conn.; one son, Paul Robert Capshaw of Raleigh, N.C.; her father and stepmother, William Hobert and Lera Polk Capshaw of Whitepine; two sisters, Carolyn Johnson of Johnson Hollow Community. and Faye Barnhill of Gahanna, Ohio; three brothers. William Capshaw Jr. of Whitepine, Edward Capshaw of Centerville. Ga., and Dewey Capshaw of Morristown and two grandchildren. Funeral service was Tuesday, at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Brother Maurice Hall officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
