CAIRO - Melvin Millard Lambert, 77, died Thursday. April 20, 2000, at Magnolia Regional Health Center after a long illness. He was a retired construction worker with Worsham Brothers in Corinth, and owner and operator of a saw mill and trucking company. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a past Master of the Robert G. Smith Lodge No. 412, where he was a member for 54 years. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Fairview Church of God with Bro. J. T. Prince and Bro. Steve Corbett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marie Worley Lambert; three daughters, Judith Amerson and her husband, Gene, of Burnsville, Joyce Holder and her husband, Wayne, of Iuka, and Patty Johnson and her husband, Charles, of Cairo; three sons, Roy Lambert and Melvin V. Lambert, both of Cairo, and Johnny W. Lambert and his wife, Becky, of New Site; one sister, Willie McGaughy of Shelby, Mich.; three brothers, Garvin Lambert and J. T. Lambert, both of Cairo, and Marvin Lambert of Woodlake, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, his caregivers, Bonnie Dotson, Helen Ball and Kathy Patrick. Masons will serve as pallbearers
His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
