Miss Baker retired in 1977 as a teacher, having taught two years in Michigan,
17 years in Lima, two years in Elida, six years in Wapakoneta and five years in Greenville. While in Lima, she spent a year as an exchange teacher in Honolulu. While working in the Elida, Wapakoneta and Greenville districts, she served as a guidance counselor. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta. She was a member of the grange, Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine, Tri-Moraine Audubon Society, the Allen County Herb Society, the Homemaker's Extension Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Auglaize County Retired Teachers Association. She attended grade school in Ravena, NY, and was a graduate of Litchfield (Michigan) High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University, Ada, and her master's of education in administration and guidance from Bowling Green State University.
Following retirement, she returned to Wapakoneta and enjoyed extensive travels in the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Alaska, the Orient, Australia, New
Zealand and a return trip to the Hawaiian Islands.
