She was the second born of five children born to Adam Arras and Catherina Elizabeth Harres. She and Peter were married at her parents' home in Waterloo, Illinois June 6, 1878. Peter was a farmer and they lived in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri for several years. They had ten children, eight girls and two boys in which both boys died an early death. Adam died at the age of 3 of Scarlet fever and Peter at the age of twenty-two in a drowning accident. They eventually moved to the Kidd area where they continued to farm until moving to Fults, Illinois to settle down for their retirement years.
